This is performed by the gynaecologist and consists in:
– Hormonal study by which we get an idea of the ovarian function of the donor.
– Gynaecological full revision. Ultrasonography and antral follicle count, breast examination, cytology, blood pressure and heart function.
– Analysis. Full blood count, blood clotting, blood group and Rh, liver and kidney function.
– Serology. Serology screening for sexually transmitted diseases. HIV viral load was also determined by molecular techniques (RNA viral-load) to rule out recent viral infection.
